GOLDEN WORD

Opportunities ? Small or Big. They come and go. Some will be easy to take advantage of, some will be difficult. But once we let them pass in hopes of something better, those opportunities may never again be available. Always grab the first opportunity. HAVE A GREAT DAY

Coats for Kids

Coats for Kids
Help the poorest children in the U.S.
by Daniel LaPlante

Lakota Chapel is a small Wesleyan church on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. It is, according to (US Census 2000), the poorest reservation in the nation, with 78% unemployment. Many of our Native American children live below the national poverty level and go with out basic needs everyday. South Dakota winters can average about -20' degrees but have been about +20' degrees this year. During the winter months many children go without warm coats. You can make a difference for a little child with the "Coats For Kids" project.

We have recieved used clothing in the past, but much of the things recieved were only good to throw out, dumpsters full of gifts to God. The Bible says that when we give unto these littles ones, it is as if we are giving unto him. We are asking you to give Jesus a new coat to be recieved by a little child this year. Many kids cannot believe they are getting a new coat, this may be for some the first new coat they have ever recieved.

Pastor Daniel La Plante believes that Christians would be willing to give a new winter coat to the "Coats For Kids" project. The coat can be anysize for a girl or a boy, from size small to size XXXL. We will also recieve coats that are in excellent condition.

UPS Shipping is the best way to send these items needed.

We thank all of you, if the Lord will have you to be a blessing to some some child here in South Dakota.

Sincerly,
Pastor Daniel La Plante
